thumbnail problem in photochop

Hi Tony,

In the photochop thread, I don't see a thumbnail.

Did I do something wrong when I attached the gif file? Like maybe caps in the suffix. [ssr.GIF]

Atually, it's Troy.

The software does not automatically resize gif images. There is a patent problem that makes it technically illegal to resize gifs without paying royalties. It expires in June or July of this year.

We will setup the system software to resize gifs at that time.

Troy, sorry about the name. The honcho's name on another board I frequent is Tony.

A patent on resizing a peculiar bitmap format. How strange. Dose this have anything to do with the gif's interleaving concept.

Humm, just thinking out loud, but if the thumbnail is a seperate file, who says the thumbnail has to be gif?

The GD module that does the resizing will support gifs after the patent expires worldwide on July 7th.

You can read up on it more here: http://www.boutell.com/gd/faq.html
