Where to purchase 4:10 gears??

Have decided to put 4:10 gears in my 2004 automatic. Anyone have any suggestions where I should buy them? Brian

if you are going to change them anyway, have you consdered 4:56's. More bang for the same buck.

I might have a set of 4.10's for the auto in the barn, I'll look.

If you want a new set:

Contact is
J&S Gear (John)
18222 Gothard St #A
Huntington Beach, CA
714.841.4545

Tell them you want the American Axle 4.10's, a crush washer and a pinion seal. You'll also need a bottle of Posi lube from GM.

Also a good time to swap out the OEM cover for an aftermarket one with a drain plug.....contact Mike in AZ.

If you have the swap done in Phoenix, contact Alan at The Gear Shop at 602.437.1476. He'll do the swap for $ 350.00, tell him I referred you.

I have read several posts and there seems to be two schools of thought. 6 speed, 4:56, auto 4:10, thus that is why I was considering the 4:10. One post I read on here a guy put in the 4:56 and then went to the 4:10 because it did better on long trips, engine not working so hard and better gas mileage he claimed. That is the only reason I thought 4:10 might be the best............ BUT, I am open for suggestions from those that have done it and probably will not get it done until mid-summer. Brian
