Dave,
I was looking for ways to move the mirrors forward or replace them with something that would accomplish the same. It took some head scratching and work to make it happen, but worth it in my opinion. I used the same door mounting and wiring holes, made internal mounting plates, and altered the mirror internals to allow them to ratchet/fold as OEM. The mirror surface is now approximately 3” forward of it’s original position and doesn’t require head movement to look through them. Check out my “Garage” for other pictures.

With all due respect to Tiny Snowplows, I have seen TruckndRods (spellcheck) and it is so cool what he has done - a very special SSR so he gets my vote - it is gorgeous!
