On 10/01/2004 SSR serial # 115841 took it's first breath of air. I purchased said vehicle on Sept. 27 2015, (my birthday) with 20,000 miles on it. From this point forward said vehicle is known as the "TOY". It was rescued from a dealer in Alabama. the dealers wife drove it and did not apply any TLC. After numerous "Do you really need that", from the lovely wife and several "WHY ME's" I decided to enter the TOY in Sept's prestigious ROTM. The upgrades and modifications are as follows.

Alas, attempts to get the wife to pose for more pictures have not panned out. Hey, this is a car contest!

2004 Slingshot yellow. 44,000 original miles. Purchased in February 2018. Daily driver. With the expert help of Jack (in Mississippi) and Mike (in Arizona), replaced the pneumatic & hydraulic roof cylinders, the roof hinge bushings and the shift cable bushing. Also installed the ABS heat shield and roof compartment soundproofing (wind noise fix), fixed the driver door click and replaced the bed cover pneumatic cylinders. Installed custom vinyl side stripes with SSR logo from SignsDotCom, replaced the bow tie on the tailgate with a vinyl graphic CHEVROLET, installed large vinyl bow tie on bed cover and domed hood inserts.

Just did the darbysan/Jerry thermistor hack to run the A/C colder!

Remember, red and yellow kill a fellow, but to be yellow is mellow .

Thanks for looking. Pat

Is there some reason this September vote thread is below the September entries and August winner threads on the home page? I didn't realize the voting had already begun.

Speaking of Bling... @Pat LeBlanc you have it going on in the "bling department".

Both @SWT RYD and @CAZ SSR are coming to the Southeast SSR Rally in Warner Robins...

...which means their votes from me have to cancel each other.
I am giving my vote to you, but it has nothing to do with your wife's necklace!!

Robert and Denny, Look forward to seeing you both next week. Just don't want to have to choose between the two of you.

Would have been nice to get some of that Route 66 money to change my mind, but I didn't ...just say'n!!!

This is a tough fight. May the best truck win and may we have a record number of voters for a change.

Robert by the looks of the early voting, you can keep the necklace in the safe.
Appears that Jim may have cashed the check after all!?!?

SWT RYD, I was looking at your photos again and clicked on your engine bay photo to increase the size. When it came up I had to get my sun glasses to protect my eyes from all the bling and shine.. Great looking truck.

Preventive maintenance is a must, but if it's not broke, don't fix it !!! Unless it makes it Prettier or Faster !!!

Thanks

The TOY and I want to thank everyone who voted for us. All three are WINNERS because we have unique vehicles. All three had people who thought theirs were better than the other 2 and because we can have fun during the contest. Again, thanks and lets have more entries in future months. @CruDawg where do I tell the Wells Fargo truck to bring the prize money.
