Is it my eyes? Or is the right fender painted into engine compartment and the left fender the paint appears to end at the hood. If so, why?

If I were in the market for another one this would definitely be on the top of the list.

Good eye!
My guess is this vehicle was hit right front at some point after the original repaint. That fender was replaced and painted on a stand.

I never noticed that , but I think you are right. I guess who ever painted it masked it off different on each side. Or two works masking at the same time , each different.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree but that is also what makes it appealing to me that it’s not like everyone else’s.

I will ask the current owner about the fender paint but I don’t think it has ever been wrecked.

I just got a response from current owner no wrecks while in his possession. It appears that it was masked off and painted incorrectly when they did the copper paint.

That is a sharp combination! Would look good next to my wife's Murano! Wish I had the change to make an offer on it...a 2nd SSR would be great!

I would like to see this SSR go to a good home so I would be willing to drive it part way or more if that helps anyone that is considering this truck.

I agree with Guzzi Guy,
Personalizing is real kool BUT when you want to "move on" it's can be difficult to find one with similar taste. I custom built a 67 Beetle with the HotWheels logo painted down both sides and found it impossible to find anyone that wanted to drive it home with them even with a low price. After I repainted over the logo's a new owner showed up bummed that the logo was gone.
1 in 1,000,000 or more. But that said I LIKE the color combo. R's do look good in 2 tone!

I agree the 2 tone ones are great and this one is definitely unique. There is an old saying there's a butt for every seat hopefully this one finds the right person. This one is getting some extra RGang attention this week.

You mention you're a 17 hour drive from Orlando, but where do you live and are you close to a major airport?

I have been looking at this and don't quite understand why the drivers side front fender is still black where it bolts up and the under side of the hood as well as the engine compartment is black so it must have been all black. Is there extra copper paint to match?

Probably easier to respray the inner part of the panel black to match, rather than try to blend the copper..

You do not understand that the drivers front fender for about 2 inches wide where it bolts to the car is still black??

He does understand and is saying paint the copper side black to match the black side. It was a tapers mistake evidently and they probably never noticed it. That way everything under the hood would match and be black. Easy fix.

If that is how you would want to fix this problem, I would not want you to work on any of my vehicles. I think that you can probably see the black when the hood is closed because there is a gap. I just asked if there was any matching copper paint available which is the only way to fix it.

If the black is visible on one side, you would have to blend the copper on both sides to be happy with the look. I don't think you should buy this one, because blending a custom copper paint job with color and clearcoat would be a nightmare, even if you had some of the paint available.

Redoing the black would be fairly easy - no metallic or pearl involved.
