wunderkind: I just emailed you the sample. Note that it is in MS Word format (the actual e-book is in pdf format), and is large (2.9 MB). You MIGHT need your computer versus your iPad to open and read it. Let me know!

Bought Jim's book last week and couldn't wait to get home at night to read more. Advise and info is spot on. Really has helped me with current decisions on engine upgrades. You'll give yourself an "atta boy" for buying.

This must be "retro week"! This is the second question and 3rd ping I've gotten this weekend about 6 or 7 year old projects.

"Red" was a casualty of my job loss. I had to sell him, all the neat parts that randy and I had assembled to put onto him, and a whole lot of other things.

BUT . . .

David Horner, who the new owner has commissioned David to rebuild Red, called me yesterday to tell me that Red is now being reassembled, with a new engine, and redone bodywork, but keeping the best of the hi-tehc pieces I sold him with, including those NASCAR super lightweight leaf springs (24 lb for the entire set of four springs!).

But, it also looks like "Red" will no longer be "red" in color. The new owner is contemplating choices . . .

To anybody thinking of buying an SSR: The second smartest thing I did before I bought my SSR was to come to this web site to learn as much as I could about SSRs (becoming a supporting member the day I bought my SSR). The smartest thing I did was buy Jim's e-book. It is packed with great info, was a great resource when shopping for my street rod (as Jim logically identifies it for what it truly is), and is serving as a wonderful source of ideas for future modifications, maintenance, etc. in my opinion, this book is an absolute "must have" for all SSR owners and anyone seriously considering buying one. Thank you Jim for writing this book!

Thanks, Rob L! I'm blushing.

Seriously, I'm glad the book has been of help to so many SSR owners. I'm amazed at how the relatively small number of SSRs has maintained such a high profile for close to a decade now. It really proves that when GM created the SSR, they DID create a classic street rod, that looks as captivating to people today, OVER a decade after it was designed, as it did when we saw the first "teaser" photos.

Scanning thru all the posts, everyone seems to love the book. Once I have the pdf. file, can it be printed out and put in a binder for reference or does it have to stay as a pdf.? I printed off some stuff from the GM heritage cetner regarding the SSR and put it all in a binder for reference.

Thanks

No problem printing all, or part, of the e-book. Many have done so! A pdf prints very easily.
