Just buff the satin off to see the chrome underneath using a white buffing stick. Add white buffing stick to your buffer for about 5 seconds, then buff lightly for 30 seconds and repeat until done. Tape off the knob to avoid buffing part of it. Get a small 2-3 inch buffer and white stick for your drill from Harbor Freight and buff your chrome knobs and fog light knobs also. I did my seat hoops also that cannot be told from factory new. How about your hood emblem?...Gary

Just be gentle and keep checking your progress. If you get aggressive with the buffer you'll burn through the Chrome to the copper below.

Use a larger 7-8 inch buffer for larger items like the hood emblem and seat hoops. This only works on satin coated plastic, not metal like your steering wheel or outside door handles. I also polished the Console gauges after removing the 3 gauges and it came out perfect. Just take your time. It actually cost GM more for adding the satin finish than chrome that was finally available in 2006. Of course I sell stainless steel that matches the chrome. Just click on this BANNER for a sample of the over 100 SSR options that I make in Stainless Steel.
