I realize that this is not in the spirit of the event but is anyone having their SSR shipped to the event and then flying in? As much fun as it would be, I don't have the time to drive down & back from NorCal so I am considering this as an option.

Alternatively, if not able to bring the truck but still want to come meet folks and see beautiful trucks, when should I get there?

I am not sure how many of the NorCal group you have met but maybe one of the couples would be willing to split up for a couple days to drive your truck one way so you would have the experience of driving cross country but only have to drive one way. OR NOT. Just thinking out loud. Looking forward to meeting you in Denison. There have been those that have flown in to other rallies and rented a car. Just get there and have fun meeting the other Fanatics you have dealt with here.

We are flying in for the event just to busy this summer to add another road trip in so far have driven close to 7,000 miles this year, unfortunately not all in the SSR. Plan on going to Dallas-Green Bay game that Sunday after the Rally, want to see the stadium be one more thing off the bucket list. I dont think anybody really cares if you drive, fly, walk, or get smuggled in as long as you show up and have a good time.

We are leaning towards flying in (if I can't find anyone to smuggle us), just wondering if there is any point in showing up before Saturday if I'm not driving down?

Oh yaya... we got things to do... please come before Saturday. Thursday Tech-day you will learn a lot about the truck.. and the SSR family. Friday, we may run the hills of North Texas and Oklahoma, but, there will be some one that will need a co-pilot. And Saturday, being a free day until the banquet, you'll be able to hitch a ride to the festival and car show downtown.

Fly into DFW and rent a plain car and get here.

Alright, you talked me into it. I have booked the Hampton and Mrs. PokerGuy & I will be there Thursday. Hopefully I can find a rental that is not too plain

I will do the signup tonight when I get home since I'm obviously working hard right now

Question schedule

DINERMAN:
is there a schedule of events for the meet ?

My reservation is from Wed. Oct. 4th to Monday Oct. 9.

If there isn't anything scheduled on Sunday Oct. 8, I might relinquish the lovely Denison Texas to the natives and proceed to Margaritaville casino in Louisiana.
......

I know everybody would like to plan their day. There are still some parts not in place but here is what you can start planning with.

Wed: All day check-in reception 7:00 pm.

Thurs: Breakfast 7 - 9 am.
Tech-day starts at 10:00 am
10 to 12 Tech-talk (Mike, Dicktator, others)
Break for lunch (local restaurants)
1 - 3:30 Hands on in parking lot
4:00 pm swap meet
Thursday nite ( plans still in works)

Friday: Breakfast 7 - 9 am
10 - 2 - planned run (most likely 3 to choose from because of large group)
Planning to get group picture about 4 pm
Friday nite (plans still in works)

Saturday: Breakfast 7 - 9 am
9:30 Car show and festival downtown Denison or Free time to see local venues or travel to Dallas
6:00 - reception and pre-banquet social.
7:00 pm - Banquet

Sunday: pack it up (although some are staying to see N. Texas sites)

Thursday and Saturday: for those not needing Tech stuff, there will be some short poker runs.

List of all the fun place and drive times will be provided. There is no requirements but having fun.

Way to go PokerGuy!! Looking forward to meeting you.

You probably wouldn't have had fun with your SSR anyway; people would have kept asking you to take them somewhere..."Hey Taxi"

Made reservations 3 Oct - 7 Oct at the Choctaw Casino then leave for Dallas after the banquet Sat night. We have a date with Green bay Sunday afternoon. Then hopefully Wilson Phillips in concert at the State Fair that evening.

Then on to New Orleans for a nice round of jazz and a couple of bigniets.

They are best with a hot cup of coffee at Cafe Du Monde!

FYI - I will be at Choctaw anytime I'm not doing something with this group.

Cruise to Dallas. and watch the game. I could only afford Standing Room Only but what a party. I hope to win some dough at Choctaw. If not, then I will not go over my limit. Got to pay for gas, too. Oh, and I have to feed LIPSTICK, the wife. She loves gambling more than I do. We still need to reserve a room in Dallas If we have enough we might get a group rate.. Who's in?

I know 150 SSRs was the goal; and we are getting close!!! Thankfully we have a couple of newbies that have signed up to come without their Rs (Good on you!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!). But we really need to set our sights higher. What about 200 SSRs!?!?

Beat the bushes, talk to your friends and let's get some more newbies to join this amazing celebration of this magnificent machine. The 2017 International Rally is going to be the BEST RALLY EVER!!
