Hi Doug, Surprised by your retirement notice. As many have said, you will wonder how you ever got everything done while you were working. Will the Shop still be there under new management?

I'm looking over your revised schedule here and am a bit confused (retired senior moment).

Saturday - Schedule says Chocolate Run @ 8:30 with lunch at Brickerville. Leaving from where?

Saturday - Sign-up Sheet says Spooky Nook for lunch. Chocolate run starts from Where?

Sunday - Where will the Covered Bridges Run start? What time will it start?

Monday - Gus's at what time?

Am I missing a revised schedule somewhere?

Bridge Tour Teaser

I mentioned this during the dinner last night (@ the Finger Lakes event) that I'd be posting up a teaser video of the bridge tour. Here it is - 6 and a half minutes of covered bridges. I pulled this from my dash cam so there is no audio.

Is anyone booked Thursday night at the hotel? We just tried to add Thursday. Hotel said the ssr group didn't book Thursday therefore the discount rate didn't apply. The best they would do is $180. just wondering if anyone got it at the $120 rate. Doug... Do you know if Thursday was included?
Thanks

Well folks, #9 is in the books. I'm glad everybody had a great time.

Doug had mentioned to me about one bridge that had been sold to a private party. There are only a few bridges in the county that were closed to traffic, and this one was particularly unique because it's a double span. It was the Herr's Mill bridge along Ronks Rd between Paradise and Strasburg. This was part of the tour a few times in the past (just drive-bys).

https://www.pennlive.com/entertainme...ic_bridge.html

It is being relocated to Elizabethtown. I'll keep tabs on it because we might be able to include this on a future tour!

True to form Margo & Doug put together a fabulous weekend for us. Thank you very much for being fantastic hosts. SR71 once again proved to be an expert cat wrangler keeping the tours together.

I'd like to personally thank the members who helped me out while I've got a hitch in my gitalong.
I must apologize to Sailing for snatching away her truck's title as the Doug's last SSR project.

Often wrong...... but never in doubt.

Their daughter is Chris and she worked her very hard to give us all a great time including supplying the venue for our banquet dinner. Also not to be ignored or forgotten are Gary and Janet (MT Pockets) who were big-time behind the scene help during every meal and event. And we will not forget John and the lovely Kathy (Photoblur) who rescued more than one lost lamb from the occasionally confusing farm roads of Lancaster County. Thank you all. I had a blast and enjoyed seeing you all either again or for the very first time.

And, oh yes - my truck looks AWESOME!! It is better than brand new.

Dang, I loved this truck even before I met any of you. What a surprise it was to also get this family that came with the purchase. It is epic.

I look forward to seeing you on the road!
