There are several roads around Maggie that are as good or even better then the Dragon, plus a lot less traffic. A nice ride is up to Bristol and hit the Snake HWY 421 towards Boone NC. 3 mountains 489 curves and Shady Valley in the middle. Also I 26 from Ashville to Johnson City has a lot of curves that can be taken fast! I have run I 26 at 100 mph before. A lot of fun at that speed!

Well, plan something fun, that is new, and different. I like the Dragon, but just following each other up the Interstate is no reason to own an SSR, you could do that in a Prius, or a Beetle. Would be fun in the VDub, mebbe a Thing or a VDub Cabriolet.

I gotta disagree LK , you might keep up in a lot of things , but a POS Prius is not one of them. Whenever there is a slow string on the I-state , more often than not you will find one of those underpowered peddle cars at the root of the problem. Sorry for the rant , but am sick of avoiding something that can't seem to keep up with the flow of traffic in the middle or right lane!

"LK" we don't follow each other "up the Interstate" we have had some real nice "backroad" ventures in the past as I recall. We really liked Iron Horse, wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Been up to the Lodge a couple of times for lunch and still like that trip.

Drove HWY 421 in Feb. from Kingsport to Mountain City to meet a realtor snow halfway up the mountain told the realtor that's why I was late he laughed his ass off said your definitely a new to this area nobody drives 421 in the winter. Went back home up thru Abigdon VA.down thru Bristol. Fun to drive but gets boring half way thru it, just to long.

We could go to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Which has a little interstate driving and some nice curves and have lunch at La Strada Italian restaurant. We haven't been there in 10 years with the R's. And we can come back a different way and hit several curvy roads and the Blue Ridge. If it is nice out, we can eat on the patio at La Strada.
