Maggie Valley / Gatlinburg Sky Bridge

For the daringly crazy, fearless, wild-eyed, adventurous, risk-taking daredevils among us, a new caper awaits. The www.gatlinburgskylift.com is scheduled to open May 17th. A suspension bridge almost 700 ft. long, touted as North America's longest, having a portion of glass walkway. Gatlinburg is one of our favorite stops on the MV trip, but don't count me among the above. High overlooks make my gonads ache. I'm good with just the twisty mountain pavement.

Personally heights are ok for me, It's the "new opening" thing that makes my skin crawl.
I don't wish to be a high falling experiment. So I'll wait till next year.

We had read about it but thought like you. We don't buy the first year or try new things before they are tested. That is why We didn't mention anything about it. We may put it on our list for years to come.

Definitely get a good view of the area from up there and see all the damage that was done by the fires a year and a half ago.

I will also pass on this adventure.
I don't have a fear of heights.
I have a fear of falling.

This started after I did my imitation of Clark Griswold hanging Christmas lights, complete with corduroy Bears hat.

Ladder slid down new driveway I hit asphalt and fractured 3 vertebrae.

I'm sure you made Clark proud. Hope you didn't harm the hat.

I agree with Mike and Blur'd Vision, let it go a year. Let the fearless one try it out, so when I get there - it's been tested out. All joking aside, I actually wouldn't mind going across it!
