Just a thought but why is having the car show predicated on going to the Chevy dealer. Why not just have it at Maggie Valley Inn and Conference Center?

I suspect that it has something to do with quantity. It would require the Conference center to block out the packing area for the show and that might take more space than they are willing to give up. Remember that when everyone shows up for the Banquet many walk from close by. My .02

It's mostly SSR's that are in the parking area already so they would not be blocking off that many additional spaces. I have seen where guys are gathered showing their trucks off and discussing what they have done or would like to do.

Anyone that wishes to head this up feel free to post it.

I just talked to Michael and looks like we could have a "Show Off" time at MV Conference Center from 1PM to 3PM on Saturday this is after the tech session that runs from 10-12 and before the Swap Meet that starts at 4PM. I just figured most us are already going to be there anyway just gives a little structure to it. Just think of this as Cruisin rather than a car show.

Well, apparently I have missed quite a bit during my 3 month hiatus. Been working a lot- like 28/29 days out of every month since Oct. Wound March down in FL with my daughter and her HS marching band at Disney, then into April with her performing at various venues and Carnigie Hall, NYC on Easter. Now, it's prep for her HS graduation and all the various stuff that goes with it.

I am scheduled to work the weekend of the Rally- trying to get off- swap weekends, negotiate for Sat coverage only, etc. I won't know until a couple of days prior to whether someone will take my extra shift(s). Will it be ok to just show up on Sat for the tech session and banquet?

I already ordered a t-shirt from Meg with the understanding if I don't make it, she will give to Alex.
Let me know.

You will miss a lot if you only come for one day. If you can come for all days, you won't regret it!
As for Saturday, there will be a swap meet and a little car show at the inn and conference center before the swap meet. Then the banquet that evening, but you must preregister for it.

At this late date, I would not switch as I have already booked across the road.

But this place seems to be one of the (premier) and most wanted places to stay. I would suggest anyone thinking of making the (annual) trek to Maggie for this event..........should jump on this deal.

Can't even tell ya just how many similar (most wanted motels/hotels) there are in Pigeon Forge that are most impossible to "book" for annual Street Rod shows cause most just keep "booking" for year after year. My wife and I took our '39 Chevy streetrod there for many years and were never able to land one of those "select" and/or preferred spots along the main drag in Pigeon Forge.

I think many of those spots get "willed" and/or passed down to family members that are still in the "game".

Bottom line..............Someone needs to JUMP on these spots.

We've had to Cancel our trip out there today. We'll surly miss this gathering and Rally in particular. Sure wanted to be there for This one! Had a physical issue kinda related to a zip line in Vegas that is making a road trip, not such a good idea right now. Hopefully all will be fine in a couple of weeks. In the mean time, I'll be addressed as "Mr Mom" .... thank you very much !
We will look forward to Seeing You Down-the-Road....
