We removed the existing muffler, placed a Y-pipe on the existing exhaust, then placed 2 MAGNA XL1000 2 1/2" straight through glass packs mufflers, then connected to the existing tail pipes. Oh I forgot we put a short section of pipe in from the existing exhaust pipe to the Y-pipe, to make up for the shorter length of the new glass packs.

CHP and local PDs may have something to say about that, and DMV when you need the SMOG check.

Mike in Orlando runs straight pipes. It sounds pretty good. I had the single pipe going into the front of the muffler cut out and replaced with two 2.5 inch pipes. I am using two, 4 inch by 18 inch magnaflows, and PYPES high flow cats. Absolutely love the sound.

Okay, like I have said before I really am technically challenged. I tried again to download a video with my exhaust sound. No luck. I wonder if it is possible to download using AutoGuide with an I-pad?

Which way did you end up going with your exhaust?

Does the new muffler give the truck a deeper sound, or is it just louder?

I don't know if it will mess up the motor but IMO you need some back pressure for it to run correctly.
