Sounds like territory where you might expect some visitors, if they can find you. I know when I was at the one day I attended in '09 I only saw maybe 1/3 of the vehicles and was no where near mine once I parked it. Hopefully if any Fanatics find it they will leave a card so you know they were there.

Actually I kind of like it , would make a great daily driver that would be economical and fun. Possible improvements would be SS grille and SS turbo engine , would get closer to living up to it's SSR big brother performance.

Be careful, just read on another forum that there were 3 cars and 1 truck stolen during Power Tour yesterday in Charlotte. I always hate to hear about these events and the bad elements hitting them.

Two were at the hotel we were staying at...

Read tonight that a couple of those might be at a towing storage lot.

Iím hoping thatís the case, at least they wouldnít be stripped when they found them.

Parking was crazy around our three hotel complex and they might have parked in a fire zone.

Talked to this guy at registration yesterday.

Heís from Alabama and not a fanatic.

He told me his radiator fan had quit working and was having a hard time finding one.

Gave him the info for Simple Engineering.

Told him about the wealth of information on the site and tried to get him to sign up.

I read now there were 5 that were missing. Monte Carlo SS, Malibu Wagon, Buick or Chevy Wagon, late 80s short bed black Chevy pick up, white square body short bed GMC pick up truck. The Monte had a removable steering wheel and it was not on the car. Hope it was just a towing deal for illegal parking. Surprised the hotel would not have tried to get the owner to move it rather then have it towed.

I think you and your wife walk up to me to introduce yourselves. I have the Aqua Blurr one very dirty from the rain for two days driving down.

While I only had mine two weeks now, I am very impressed with how it handles all the tight corners including the tail of the dragon in heavy rain!

These things are so neat. I wish I had gotten one brand new. My efforts were in open track racing then. Tunnel vision inhibits experiencing great things

I saw another Aqua Blurr in Charlotte, A black over silver in Bristol and a silver one in the parking lot at Martinsville. I heard there was a yellow one too.

The most fun roads I every drove on, and even in all the rain in was fun. Hope you had a great trip.

Thumbs up 2016 Long Hauler SSR

We did this in 2016 From Gonzales LA. to KC Missouri 2,200 mile round trip for me. Average daily temp was 100, the trip through Texas and OK. was especially hot / brutal, saw MANY cars on the side of the road overheating. But we did enjoyed meeting and talking with other R owners. I was very surprised that many were not aware of the SSR Fanatic Forum. I did find that the distance between stops didn't leave much time to enjoy the stop cities. Wishing you all the best.

I was surprised as well that the R owners I talked to were not aware of the forum.

Talked to guy from Missouri that has owned a 03 since day one and asked if he was on the forum and he said nope.

Think he said he had 21,000 miles on it before he left.

We had a blast, went to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame yesterday then drove to Joliet to run Route 66 towards home.

Finally made it home yesterday. After the tour was over we headed over to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame then to Joliet to run Route 66 down to OKC. Only saw 6 Rís the whole trip. It was a blast.
