South Texas Tech-Day - Winnie II

Yes our Texas R's are having another Tech-Day in Winnie, Tx. Our hosts TrueBlue and RedLineRyder want to invite any SSR for this hands-on session and SSR social event (that means just on for the Gab-n-Grub).

South Texas Tech-Day

April 13th Saturday - Winnie, Texas

1657 FM 1406 Winnie, Texas.

A repeat of a great Tech-day last year. Get the R ready for some topless summer fun.
If you need work on your SSR, then get ready for this wonderful event. If you just want to come and hang with some great Texas SSR fanatics your welcome... I know you are really coming for the food. Lester does a great job. Get this on your calendar - order your parts - let us know if we can help.

Now, these southern Texans know how to put on a Tech-Day. There'll be a crawfish boil, lots of hands-on work, lots of bragging, lots of knowledge filling air, and by the way, the Dicktator will be there. Last year we had almost 30 SSR's for this event. You don't have to have any work done... you just have to come and enjoy. And we have the man of Simple Engineerings SSR guru Mike Moro.

Local Hotels for the long-haulers: Hampton Inn Winnie - 409-296-3525 $109 Hilton Honors price - Holiday Inn Express also handy.

First time since the International Rally 2019 that both these men have been to a Tech-day in Texas.
You just have to put this on your SSR bucket list.

Let us know your coming.. we want to have enough for you to eat.

Frank called, "What are you doing on April 13th?"

"Come on down to our Tech Day". I made plane reservations and will be flying in on Friday April 12th.

Looking forward to seeing and helping everyone, if I can.

Lester & Brian ~~~ I want to thank you both for having this event again for "The Gang". Madeline & I had a blast at last year's event.

Please pencil us in as this one is definitely on our calendar. I'm sure I'll be cleared to drive again by then & will be wanting to let the Black Knight "stretch his legs" again. -

I'm considering getting the shocks (frt. & rr.) changed for Mike's new Bilsteins and could definitely use some knowledgable help with installation. Would there be time & room for this?

We will be making a reservation at the Hampton to stay overnight like we did last year.

★☆★ - Looking forward to seeing everybody again!! -

Glad you are planning on making the Tech Day. Definitely on the shocks, will put you down for one of the lifts. Robert and Terry have installing shocks down to a science.

Winnie Tech Day reservations?

I need my ECM reprogrammed. Will there be someone there for that? Do I need to get on a waiting list? I'm also thinking about bringing my damaged R.

I'm wrestling with whether to part it out or sell as is. I purchased SSR and found out that Greg Ducato was one of the previous owners. I got him to rebuild my trans at 55K.
It has Borla Dual Exhaust,
Mike's exhaust tips,
Mike's auxiliary trans cooler,
Mike's replacement fan,
K&N Filter kit,
silver bed strips,
chrome wheels.
115k mileage.
Runs great.
No airbags went off.
No plumbing damaged.
Clear title.
All for $10k

Don't think we can reprogram an ECM. What are your problems? Maybe some can help.

Donaldo7, Not sure why you need ECM programed but only the Dealer can do that. Done by Vin #.

It can not be done with Tech2.

You also realize that you will lose your "Custom Tune" when you reprogram ECM.

You need Licensed Tuner to put in Custom Tune, Dealer will not do that.

My goal was to have the fan come on earlier than it does. Can that be done without reprogram?

Yes, by a licensed Tuner, find a Corvette Shop that does tunes.

Dealer can not change setting by LAW!

Tune consist of, at least in Florida, my 04:

32 more HP.
3 more MPG
Drop OEM 1 second throttle delay.
Reset Fan setting: LOW 190 HIGH 210 (Over 35mph fan shuts OFF).
Change shift patterns in transmission to reduce slippage and improve shift speed.

Cost about $350. worth every penny.

Don, are you going to want to swap some of the SE upgrades from the old to the new? Tech Day would be a great time to do that if you can get both there.

Yeah, I'm working on it. I'm having the frontend looked at tomorrow to determine if frame is tweaked. If not, I will have other pieces as needed and have the frontend realigned. If all that comes together, I'll drive it - maybe - if not, will have it towed there - maybe.
