Is The 6 Speed Shifter Ball Nylon Bushing Sleeve Available?

Hello again...

When I took my console apart to clean my window connections, I noticed that when I took my shifter ball off the central nylon bushing is disintegrating and breaking into little bits. One section is gone. It is very difficult to get the boot back onto it without it breaking into pieces.

Is this nylon section available? Does anyone know a part number?

Does anyone know a part number for the chrome 6spd shifter ball itself?

Thanks!
Jeff

I tried to buy a new chrome shifter ball a couple years ago. It no longer exists, and the last price on one was in the $400 range.

I decided to get mine replated, so I put a bolt in it to hang the ball from in the chemical tubs, cinched with a setscrew. I used a longer allen head screw rather than risk damaging the stock torx screw. If I was doing it again, I would use RTV or other sealant to keep any of the chrome process chemicals from contaminating the threads. I had to use some WD40 and lots of patience to get the setscrew out after the chroming process was complete.

The ball came out looking great, for much less than buying a new one, if one was available. I painted the shift pattern in black, and the R in red.

Here's a thread I had posted when I needed to adapt the ball to the Hurst shifter.
