California SSR

I found my SSR on eBay and the seller lived about 1/2 mile from me. He bought it from an auction in California and I am curious if someone might have some details on it. Notice the beautiful paint scheme on the side. It has a supercharger, long tube headers, cam, transmission work and other mods. Dyno tune shows 510 HP. Any info would be appreciated.

Do a Car Fax check and it will tell you all service records, any accidents, states registered etc. Good place to start. Looks very nice. Happy hunting. Maybe someone on this Forum knows who had it and where.

With the parts you listed my guess is it was not a California car. They are death on the headers and anything more than stock usually won't pass emissions and registration. That is why most of us moved from there. They take all the fun out of it. Have fun with your new toy. In about a day or two your cheeks are going to start hurting due to your new PERMAGRIN!

I am positive that the R came from California. I had the title from California, did a Carfax and met the seller personally several times. I know about CA emission regulations and usually headers don't work. Don't have the VIN handy but will post asap. I have been to Maggie several times. Went last year and 2007 with my 2006 FPR. I will be there again this year and staying at Gina's. Forget room # but when you see my R stop by and say hi. 😁

This truck was in Maggie Valley 2018 and stayed at the Laurel Park Inn, that's where the Meet & Greet is. The fellow trailer it in & I believe he was only 3-4 hr tow.
1st picture...does this look like yours
2nd...the fellow under the #13 I believe was the owner, can't remember name or user name sorry
3rd...all I got

Maybe the question we should all be asking is, "did the person that you bought it from do all the mods after he bought it at auction from California?" Because I must say I doubt bvery much that the Long Tube headers would have passed any California inspection. The super charger and Dyo tune would not be so hard to believe.

I suppose that is true now that they do not even have to open the hood. Just plug in the computer and let Sacramento talk to the truck.

I found the carfax reports.

10-11-04 dealer inventory Pete Moore Chevy, Pensacola, FL

6-14-2005 title issued Pensacola, Fl

11-03-10 vehicle sold

11-06-10 vehicle registration, Pansey, AL

11-19-13 vehicle offered for sale

5-21-14 California inspection station Anaheim, CA
passed emissions inspection.

7-21-14 title issued Atwater, CA

11-28-16 Auto auction Pacific Region, listed as dealer vehicle,
vehicle sold at auction.

I have no idea when or where the mods were done. The carfax report is 4 pages long. Oil changes and checks but no major issue reports.

I am just curious if any of the CA fanatics knew the owner and know anything about the installation of the mods. Everything was done before I got it.

Anyway it's mine now and it is one sweet ride. Hope to see y'all at Maggie.

Looks like it spent 10 years in the south. Tons of folks in the Florida area so one of them may be able to remember it. Happy Hunting.

I found a California Vehicle Registration Report that I forgot I had. It shows the owners name and address in Atwater, CA. Probably not a good idea to show his name and address on a public forum? He may have died and his estate sent it to auction? I guess I could check the obituarys for Atwater.

I personally know the eBay seller and he definitely did not do the mods. It probably cost about $10K for everything and you would never get your money back when you sold.

Ca. has very tough emissions. There is no aftermarket catalytic converter that is legal in CA. except the one from GM. Found that out the hard way.
