Day 2 complete, did not start by out good. Shut the toy down went into Wally World, came out would not turn over. Like dead battery. Mic and I tested everything and determined it was starter. Jacked up and jumped solenoid. Has been starting good ever since. Will do further search when return to Tn. After good breakfast
Jim took us past the farms that Lois and her brother own and we're raised on. Next stop was at I-80 truckstop. Even if your not a trucker you have to see this place. World's largest truck stop. From there we went to Dyersville Iowa. Toured the National farm toy museum. Can't believe the amount of farm toys in this place. The John Deere Crawler and field harrow are made from wood. Quite a talented person. Jim just drooled over these toys that remind him of his younger days. From there we went to the farm where the "Field of Dreams" was filmed with Kevin Costner. Drove past plenty of electricy producing wind turbines. Now in West Des Moines for a much need rest.

Day 3

Day 3 was a "boot scootin" day. Drove from West DesMoines, Iowa, thru Nebraska to Laramie, Wyoming. Had plenty of rain. Mic had some weather app that said sun was supposed to be shinning but it never happened. The TOY, Red and the Sinister ran flawless The Sinister, which is a 6 speed averaged around 22.5 MPG. Jim and I were around 20 and that's with speeds at 75 and 80. High altitude of 8465 ft . Had a lovely 17 year old waitress at Perkins. She had some knowledge of the SSR. When I showed her pictures of the three, she said they were "Funky" Then my two traveling buddy's told her some people go over board. I showed her a video and now I'm "Wild". Tomorrow it is off to Evanston, Wyoming.

Day 4, left Laramie. heading to Evanston, Colorado to catch a train. Some rain mixed with snow flakes. Elevation about 7600. Beautiful scenery along I-80. Stopped in Sinclair, town named after Sinclair oil. Got picture with DINO. Caught up with BIG BOY. Than toured the round house and train repair faculty. Mic is trying to align tracks. In the machine shop was a hoist attached to a 8x8 post that swivels. Jim is trying to move it. He got it to move a few inches. I don't think back in the day Union Pacific would not be inpressed with either one. This facility is being renovated for a convention like facility. Met up with River Rat, and his lovely wife Beth for a nice meal.

Day 5

Day 5 was the train chasing day. Saw the Big Boy several times on they way to Ogden. Stopped in Morgan for breakfast . In side the restaurant was a large poster of "Grandpa" .When were getting ready to leave a couple came up and started talking about our R's. They live in Morgan and seen the trucks and we're inquestive why we were there. Turns out they own a 04 Ultra. We talked about 45 min, and informed them about the website. Their names are CJ and Milton. Later I Sent them a text and invited them to the Ogden gathering. Took some pictures of the beautiful scenery around the town. Got to Ogden, checked in, had lunch socialize, with everyone, washed the toy than Rope took us to a great Ice Cream parlor.
