Rename SSRFanatics

Okay, you're right, I've only been a member of a couple of years. It seems so many of you became members when you bought your R's as brand new trucks. Of course you've been fanatic about them. That's a given. But every time I get on this site I wonder why we're fanatics? Seems we're being described as extremists. Wouldn't it be more descriptive to refer to us as Fun Addicts? If you agree join me in my suggestion that the name SSRFanatics be changed to SSRFunAddicts (or at least include both whenever one is used, i.e SSRFantics are SSRFunAddicts. Just a thought.

Fanatic... Extremist... Both sound good to me! But then, I'm a proud deplorable so what do I know.

And besides... I'd rather be a fanatic than an addict. Already got to many addicts in the world.

NO! I for one am not ashamed to be a "fan" who is an "addict" of these unique trucks! No politically correct revisions needed for me. The name describes most that I have met just fine and thank heaven for them!

That's a Big NO GO on a name change!
Here's a definition that is about right;
"a person who is extremely interested in something, to a degree that some people find unreasonable" Those people are those who think our trucks are not very cool and should never have been made...

Yes, I am a Fanatic about my SSR and I'm proud of it! Hang around long enough and you will be too! 😉

In reality NAPE this is really a cult like Scientology but you have not been around long enough to get the Super Secret decoder ring or learn the secret password and handshake. But don't let this deter you from following the forum and making enough posts and someday when you get enough you might get the Special invite and get to meet some of the Great Guru,s in this "Family of Fanatics". Hell you might even be able to meet Dicktator, Mike, Dragon, wizzr, The Orlando Gang and many more.
So hang in there little buddy and keep checking the mail for your invite from the Founding Fathers of the Fanatics

I remember when, as The Beach Boys grew older, they considered a name change to The Beach Men
Fortunately, their manager talked them out of it.

The SSRFanatic name is known virtually throughout the world and it has taken a consolidated effort by a whole pile of dedicated & loyal Fanatics over the years to make that happen.

Thumbs down Name change

I have plenty to say about a name change suggestion

But the less I say here, maybe for the best at this time!
Considering that I've only been a member of the family since 2006.
That's right, one of the original owners not a newbie that probably hasn't acquired a Peregrine yet!
The last thing I want to do is alienate a newbie or any family member.
As I said, the less I say the better.
Clubs change names all the time, families remain the same.

I believe someone once said ‘don’t fix something that isn’t broke’. At our age, some of us would just become confused if we called us something else. Have a great day.
