Are The Seat Airbag Covers Removable?

Hello...still working on the old truck.

I noticed that the plastic airbag covers on the outer sides of each seat are "sticky." If you touch them they scratch. I had this same problem years back with a VW New Beetle...every single damn thing inside the car turned to goo because it was coated with some crap soft-touch coating that doesn't stand up to the humid south heat.

Anyway, are these airbag covers removable? I'd like to get rid of whatever coating they have on them or replace them.

Please let me know...

Thanks!
Jeff

I had the same problem, same place Jeff. I didn't try to remove them though as 91% rubbing alcohol did the trick. See this post for some other ideas if that doesn't work: https://www.ssrfanatic.com/forum/f5/...uation-247013/

Good luck

Doug

Thanks!

Did you have to tape or mask off the edges so that you didn't get the alcohol on the actual seat material?

Or, did you find the alcohol didn't affect the vinyl/leather?
