My SSR:
Pac Blue '06, HID conversion, LEDs for ALL lights, 20"/22" rims, AirPod suspension,
You will have to lay down under the passenger side of the rear of the truck and look up. It's secured inside a drop down box. Be careful...it's heavy!

Some of us have moved the battery

https://www.ssrfanatic.com/forum/f5/battery-moved-48351/

There is also a kit to put the battery behind the right rear tire. Moving the battery allows a spare tire to be installed under the rear.

TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!!!!!! All at once.

Welcome

Glad to have you aboard. Put battery replacement in the search box and it will show you how to change it if you choose to. Just changed mine after six years. There were no signs of a problem. I followed the advice you were given on this thread.

Batteries last a long time in SSRs because they are not subject to the heat under the hood. I recently replaced the origional battery in my 03 just to be safe and when my daughter's Town Car battery died I put the old one in her's and it is still going strong. But by all means, if you still have the origional AC delco consider getting a new one.

Here for Simple Engineering, or here for the spare tire kit.

Often wrong...... but never in doubt.

Just bought an 06 SSR and that was one question I had for the dealer where was the battery located he told me in my 06 it's behind the driver seat. There is a big black Cover sticking out about a inch & half off the wall behind my seat large Enough For a battery but but I have not opened it yet????

Welcome to Fanatics FAGETABOUTIT! Find another dealer. That box contains your emergency tire kit and air compressor. The battery is just forward of the rear bumper in a metal box.

Not respinsible for typois.

Welcome to the family. This is a great bunch of mixed nuts that will become the extended family you never had....... All over the country. Some of the nicest "pay it forward" type people you can find.

The box behind the seat is your tire inflation kit. A small compressor and a pressurized bottle of goo. Take the two wing nuts off and pull it out.... Check to be sure that the goodies are inside. You should Al's have a metal "T" handle tool for manually locking/unlocking the top and the cargo cover. Your owners manual will explain how this is used.

The battery is located under the rear of the truck, along the right frame rail behind the license plate.

Again, welcome to the family,

Mike
