Dicktator Saves the Day!

My 2006 died completely in a busy intersection after I experienced the dreaded Fusebox Broken Wire Symptom. It happened first time the night before and Mikey told me to let it cool down which worked to get me home. My SSR is a daily driver and needs to be functioning so I can get to/from work.

Dicktator shipped me a repaired Core fusebox which arrived in a couple of days. He was very hesitant to ship it as others have not returned their broken fuseboxes as promised so he can repair and have stock available for us SSR Fanatics. Shame on them and quite disrespectful IMHO.

Installed Dicktator's repaired box today, took about 2 hours since I go very slow and take breaks, and then it fired up immediately.

Yes, Core shipped right back. MikeinAZ does not need to beat me up.

Thank you Dicktator for taking a leap of faith and the repair.

Thanks for sharing you good story that reflected greatly towards Dicktator and you. Simply cannot believe that others have abused the good faith to return their core. Karma Karma.

Dick was kidding on here one day that he never gets a raise, in response to somebody.
So I sent him a check for $50 marked "raise". That old fart sent the uncashed check back, AND included an SSR hat.

Willie

Thanks everyone! Thanks Willie for UTube Conversation, haven't seen that in a while. Fun interview.

This is my 65th Class Reunion, imagine that! 65 years ago I was a Senior in High School.

My wife Kathy, retired from the Sheriffs Dept. last November after 27years as the Coronals Secretary who runs the jail, her retirement "Started", mine "Stopped".

Kathy would remind me, "If you don't behave, I'll get you a room with a view"!
I am a "good" boy. Married 43years.

THANKS EVERYONE!

Maybe Dictator should post the affending names and locations so some local SSR can visit them and get the old units send back to him.

What happened to cause the SSR to stall? Broken Fuse? What is that problem. I have had several problems with my 04 SSR. 160,000 miles. Never had a stalling when hot. I recently had to replace exhaust. The system failed like the original exhaust failed. Burn out the catalytic converters & rust to muffler connections. Now have a stainless exhaust. Mirror finish on muffler.

A cracked wire in the fusebox that will open when it gets hot. It hasn't been a problem on the '04s

xoxoBruce is right, 03/04 do NOT have OEM broken wire fuse box problem.

And most of 06 are OK. We tried tracking 05 with "cracked" wire by Vin#, didn't work, tried location, didn't work. Random but a problem. NOT ALL 05 have broken wire!

Wire "cracked" during production, actually "broken in half", engine heat expands plastic fuse box, causing "cracked" wire to separate, SHUT DOWN.

In 04, GM decided to change engine, transmission and add 200 times more software to the SSR. From 5.3, regular gas, 300hp to 6.0, high test gas and 400hp. Changed 03/04 PCM (Power Control Module) to 05/06 ECM (Engine Control Module).

05 also had Recall by GM on Fuel Pump which is IN gas tank. Again not all 05 effected.
