Passenger side seat not working

Our passenger side seat has stopped working. It was slid forward just about as far as it will go and now will not slide back. The lumbar and heater still work. Any ideas? Thank you

Passenger Seat

The first thing I would check is the harness plug between the seat and the truck's harness. It could have become partially separated when you moved the seat forward and is now not making a good connection. Although the connector has a catch on it to prevent this from happening , I've seen at least one truck on which the connector was not fully engaged to capture the catch. The same applies to the airbag connector. You can distinguish between the two- airbag connections are typically yellow.

Also check to see if the wiring might have chafed against any metal parts under the seat or if the seat switch is broken. I've not yet seen any failures of the passenger seat motor.

You can look up DRIVERS SEAT CONTROL to see how to remove.

Should be able to order one but not sure.

I know the seat HEAT CONTROL is not available but is easy repair.

Run the switch back/forth a number of times. Contacts get dirty. Actual switch not too easy to take apart without damage.

spares available

I have some very gently used seat track assemblies, motors and a few of the seat position switches, if you need any parts. I am also willing to send an array of parts for problem isolation and then send back what you don't need.

Drop me a note if you need anything. [email protected]
