Service Manual Question

I am searching for a GM Factory Service Manual Set for my 2005 SSR 6 speed. I see there is a 3 book set in a blue cover and there's also a 2 book set that is Lighter Blue and white cover. Can anyone define the difference and advise which I should be hunting for? Thanks

Contact a member on here named Dinerman He has the books you want all on a thumb drive. Plus extra information we have come up with over the years on issues we have discovered You will be glad you did.

Yes, by all means get Dinerman's Ultimate Drive here.

Often wrong...... but never in doubt.

I bought the 3 book purple set and have looked at them twice, but have not used them to actually look anything up. I always come here and get my answers and how to fix things.

I think the thumb drive would be a good addition but I really like to have the paper manuals. I'm kind of old school that way. Opening a manual when your working in the garage seems the way to go for me. I don't see myself with a computer in the garage. Call me an antique if you'd like, its all good.

You just print out what you need and if it gets dirty that’s ok. Throw it away.

I bought the two book - GM manuals and I bought the thumb drive from dinerman. I also am old school, every time I look for something I get out the books. I don't have a pc in garage, but garage is connected to house so I would assume my laptop would work in garage. Never get it out, always go for books. Dinerman's key is in glovebox. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks!

That key in the glove box could be a big help if you get towed in someplace that's never seen one. They're close enough to other Chevy stuff so it would be sort of familiar to mechanics, but there are definite differences.

I'm with hotroddodd, print the section you need and use the pages to clean up your mess when you're done.

Often wrong...... but never in doubt.

Sooo Does anyone know the difference in the 2 sets???? I prefer books as well. Had and still have the manuals for almost every car I owned.

Ha ha, so do I. Sometimes I look at the shelf of manuals and remember a car I'd forgotten I owned.

My ride is an '05, but the prior owner had a set of '06 Service Manuals (Basically, they should be mostly identical in content).

This is a (2) volume set. Believe it covers most everything. I'm not sure what would come in a 3 volume set.

2004 in Black and now 2005 in Black, what a pair
my 3 volume set with the light purple covers are 1 of 2 ,2A of 2 and 2B of 2
1 of 2 has General Information, HVAC, Steering, Suspension, Driveline/Axle, Brakes, and Engine
2A Transmissions, Body, It stops at lighting under body in this manual and continues with volume 2B continuing with Body lights and then covering
Restraints, Vehicle Control Systems, Accessories
Mine is also for the 2006 but I figured it would cover the same as the 05 with few differences.
