So my SSR just turned 60k miles, and she's starting to feel show her age in the suspension department. I've been looking around but can't seem to find "quality" replacement struts and shocks. I've also heard a few guys talk about a stiffening plate. Just wanted to know what you all were using, and what routes you took. I looked at the simple engineering website, but it seems like everything is backordered.
My SSR: 2004 in Black and now 2005 in Black, what a pair
Simple Engineering for the Bilstein Shocks. Mike is the go to guy for the suspension stuff. Many places advertise shocks but they are using Trail Blazer stuff and it is not the same. Send Mike an Email and he will let you know when he will have it. It is worth the wait to get the right stuff.
I like the ride Bilstein shocks provide.
YES the stiffening plate is in my opinion is the BEST part to install even before replacing any other components. My wife noticed the difference in the ride at the exact same time I did!!
Mike is a one man shop and since one of his suppliers (Eric) and his brother have both died recently, he is going through some rough times. I am sure he will get back to you but at this point he may not even answer his phone if it is an unknown number. Hang in there , if you can, for a week or two.
Mike is likely on the road headed to the Big Boy railroad adventure - give him some time to get back to you.

So I've sent mike at Simple engineering a PM on here, and tried twice to get ahold of him through the contact page of his website. Anybody know how else I might be able to get ahold of him?
