"Confirmation" of Sent PMs

Recently I've sent PMs to forum members and see that when I hit the Send Message button the screen goes blank instead of reverting back to the PM page. Unsure if the message has been sent I try again, and sometimes I encounter the same blank screen and other times the "normal" behavior will occur. On at least one occasion I later returned to my sent PM page and saw that one of these "blank screen" messages was indeed sent multiple times. In the last few days I've also received multiple copies of the same incoming PMs from forum members, which causes me to wonder if they are experiencing something similar. The time and date stamps on them are close if not the same. Admins, do you have any explanation for why this is occurring?

I've experienced the same issue and ended up sending duplicate PMs. Not sure if the server is overwhelmed at the time or what.

Cheers,

Rich

Hey guys,

Are you still getting this? I sent a few test PM's and wasn't able to replicate. Can you let me know the device/browser you're using?

I sent two PMs yesterday and everything seemed to behave normally. IIRC I ran into this issue during the evening or late-night hours. Might just be a coincidence though.

Generally I'm using Safari, but sometimes Firefox on Macs.

Thanks for looking into this! I'll post back if it happens again.

Cheers,

Rich

I did receive duplicate PMs yesterday. Not sure if he sent two or if it was the ghost in the machine.

Are the PM messages identical?
I would ask the user to see if they sent it twice.

Hi Ed,

The messages were identical, received about two minutes apart. I sent him a PM to see if he sent it twice or had any issues. Will post back as soon as I hear from him.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Rich

Hi Ed. I confirmed with the sender that he only sent one PM. He didn't recall there being an issue when is composed and sent it though. He did said that he's received duplicate PMs now and then as well.

Thanks for your hard work!

Cheers,

Rich

I am going to send you a test PM.
Let me know if it duplicated.
If so, send us a screenshot here and I'll get it escalated.

I received the following notification when I tried to PM today:

Folder Controls
Inbox contains 9 messages.
You have 23 messages stored, of a total 5 allowed. (Empty Folder)

Is that as it should be? It used to indicate "35 allowed."

Mine says 40 stored and only 5 allowed (Empty Folder). I thought my storage number was increased to I think 100. I guess I can no longer get messages and I don't understand why. I guess it because I don't pay a fee. I guess it is what it is.

It should be 100. Site settings are set to 100 stored messages. I Re-Saved that setting. Let me know if you see a change?
