Photo orientation

I have tried posting photos from my IPad collection into a thread in the Fanatic forums. The photos show up, but they get rotated 90 and sometimes 180 degrees. I’ve tried reorientation by editing them on my IPad and have the same or similar results.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks,
Lee

Here’s an example

After you rotated them did you save the image ?? On my laptop I do have to save the image after I rotate them.
I love the trucks even if they are upside down.

Thank you. Yes they were saves as a “new” photo. They then showed up in the post, did a preview before submitting, oriented in a different direction.

I was trying to post these in the forum used used for other rides. Shown in these photos is my nearing completion of restoration of a ‘46 Chevy 1/2 Ton and the restoration I completed on a ‘37 Chevy 1/2 Ton.

I admit I can be dense, but I am not understanding, “resaving the thumbnails”. Do you mean the thumbnails from my attempted post, the mis-oriented thumbnails shown in my first post above, or ________? The two options listed are the only ones I have seen so far.
Thank you for getting the one showing correctly.

Phones give exif data to images to know their orientation. Forums cannot read it.

You need to take images according to the manufacturers "Correct" orientation, which is normally sideways, as a landscape image.

You can also upload the images to a computer, re-save them in an editor program and upload them, or edit them slightly from within your device to force the forum to recognize its orientation.

Ok, I will try that. I also have a desktop computer, but rarely use it or even power it up anymore. The IPad is much more handy and easier to use, IMO.

TMI---Mine came out sideways also. Took on an iphone, then transferred to my ipad and then posted.
Is there a simpler explanation?

Walter

There may be an image managing app you can import it into to rotate it then save it.
This one might work for you? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adob...331975235?mt=8
Its from Adobe and its free.

I typically preview my posts with pictures to see if the picture rotates on the forum. When it does, I open the picture in the camera roll and take a screenshot and post the screenshot. Taking the screenshot also allows me to crop it better. After posting on the forum, I delete the screenshot from the camera roll and I still have the original.

I like TXNSSR's solution, simple... my kinda tech. I use nothing but an iPad anymore, no troubles. Also like Lee's trucks, have been fortunate enough to see them with some of the guys.
