Great info, Dale
A couple of minor discrepancies to check out.
I've sent PMs to two other Fanatics who have Canadian spec FPRs to confirm with them.
Z49 is the RPO for a Canadian Build SSR. The primary difference is the U19 metric odometer.
Also GM Canada saved ink and didn't put any "R" Codes on the Build Sheets.
Hence, Z49 Canadian FPR's do not have the R6K Final Production Run designation on the Build Sheet nor did they have the FPR Badge installed.
*Notice how Canadians stuck with the meat and potatos 2 Tones and didn't get tricked into any of those "unusual" combinations!
We don't want to get too racy, eh!
Mine (23387) came with the FPR badge installed, but the FPR designation is not on the build sheet. When I requested a reprinted window sheet with the designation on it, GM Canada had no interest in doing that. I can't get a reprinted window sheet from GM US, because it's a Canadian vehicle.
I remember being really excited about the badge when I first saw JR's truck in the showroom at Nicholsons in Edmonton, because I didn't know until that time that the trucks were badged - but I sent JR a PM to confirm my mind is in fact fully operational.
Let you know when I find out about the other two.
When I sat down with the dealer to order mine, the GM build system showed the other color combinations as available. I initially was going to order an Silver/Aqua Blur, then changed it to s Silver/Black. The order may have been rejected by GM if the order had been sent in, but the other combinations were available on the build system. Neither the Canadian or US 2006 brochure makes any mention of the alternative color combinations. Both show a black/silver combination "Extra cost option" on one photo.
It wouldn't be the only time that has happened.
My 2010 Silverado Crew Cab has a Cashmere interior. According to the dealership build system, the GM.ca online consumer build system, and the Canadian brochure, that interior color is not available with a red exterior.
Apparently I have an extremely rare crewcab. Perhaps I should park it because of its historical significance.
Checked through some old photo files. Found a shot I took of JR's truck in March 2006 in Edmonton. Definitely shows the badge. I feel better knowing I haven't totally lost my marbles.
