Nitto 555 G2

I was thinking of getting a set of the Nitto 555 G2 on front and rear. Has anyone tried these tires, I like the tread pattern.

I ran Nitto Invos in 255-40-19 and 315-35-20. They were an exceptionally quiet and sticky tire, with a very nice tread pattern. I would park the truck with the front wheels at full turn at car shows so the tread would be visible.

Unfortunately the treadwear rating was 260, and the tires wore down fairly quickly as a result.

The NT555s have a 320 treadwear rating, and will also wear out fairly quickly. Getting a soft tire is great if you run limited mileage every year. If you drive it a lot, you would probably want some harder tires.

I switched the SSR to Continental DWS06 (640 UTQG rating) and am very happy with that tire. We run NT420S on my wife's Caddy SRX, and have just ordered NT421Qs for summer tires on my crewcab.

I had the 555s on my 81 Corvette, 345/18 on the back 275/ 18 front. They were great tires. Pretty sticky. Didn’t put much mileage on them so can’t speak to the tread wear. Autocrossed a few times with them and they handled great and just sticky enough and let you know when they were going loose.
Check the load rating as those are performance tires and not made for a heavy SUV/Truck.

Thanks for the info,
Load rating for the front tires is same as Goodyear but I see only 2094 lbs for the rear Goodyears. I don't drive much in a year, around 2400 miles per year, last year no miles. Work is interfering with pleasure.
