Air filter cover mod

I bought this cover a year ago off ebay. It came off a wreck. Here it is refurbished and a fresh coat of re-sale red! I also smoothed the filler panel and painted it too. These covers are kinda neat, too bad they don't make them anymore. Not sure who it was? a motorcycle accessory guy maybe? Here it is. I give up on the pictures, turn your head!

Nice job.
Nice looking air box. I don't think I have seen that before.
Good find.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for my parts from paint shop.

Yes I have a stock 05 air cleaner housing on my 04. The K&N ones will not inner change but stock ones will.

As far as looks go, I personally prefer the look of the '03, '04 engine cover over the '05, '06.

Maybe @OLDFATGUY should put his old one on and send the one without the foam seal to me for my red. I have an 04 - no foam!

Sweet! I already had to glue an S back on when I caught it with a microfiber cloth.

Terrific paint job!

Is your top grill bar chrome or a chrome vinyl wrap? Looks great.

Cool looking mods. Does anyone know the Part Number of the black plastic fasteners which secure the piece below the Air Intake? Thanks.

I think you're referring to the two retainers circled in the attached photo? They are listed as GM Part #20064875 in the GM Parts Online site (#20).

Having pulled and replaced them on our R they look to be fairly standard size (they're used all over the R) so you may be able to take one into your local auto parts store and get some new ones.

Absolutely, any good parts store will have those plastic push pins in a range of sizes, much cheaper than GM. Grab a bag of them because you never know when these suckers will die on you in the middle of a job so you can't finish up without a run to the parts store.

Thanks for the information. The pins were not there when I purchased the R. I will check with a local parts store for the items. Appreciate the prompt feedback.
