History
This 1951 Chevy 1-ton flatbed started life in California as a fresh picked fruit hauler for Richard Peters Farms in Fresno. In 2001 he restored it, adding air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, shaved the inside and outside door handles and replaced with door poppers. Removed the two-piece windshield with a single curved windshield, removed the vent windows, cowl vent, back window replaced with a 1954 larger back window. Added a 1972 3/4 ton Chevy front suspension clip with disc brakes, one off Foose Wheels, Ididit stainless steering column, digital gauges, leather interior, flatbed made of White Oak wood.

Richard Peters was the first owner of "Ala Kart" that won the Oakland Roadster Show, now the Grand National Roadster Show, in 1958 and 1959. George Barris and Blackie Gejeian were also involved in building the Ala Kart. AMT made a model of "Ala Kart" that I purchased as a 10 year old boy. That was one of the first models I had built.
