Pretty much the same. In order to get max performance you need a few parts changes and a custom tune. GM left about 50 horsepower on the testing floor in order to meet the 50 states regulations.

I am constantly asked what the differences are between the corvette LS2 and my 2005 SSR LS2. Can someone please educate me?

The intake/throttle body differs between the two - slight edge goes to the R.

The front accessory drive differs for packaging - no advantage to either.

The oil pans differ greatly - large edge to the Vette.

The LS2 long block is identical for both.
