๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ My Updates to my 2005 SSR since January 2023 purchase ๐Ÿ‘ The Alpine Head Unit has a built in GPS & still has a CD Player & you can play MP3 files too
Install tip pay the extra $28.00 and have Crutchfield completely wire the stereo harness that ties in the steering wheel controller to โ€ฆ.The Morel 3.5 speakers ๐Ÿ”Š are for better front sound stage in the doors .You do have to modify the factory brackets to fit these but with some patience the end result is worth it !!!
The other 3.5 set are for the mounts behind the Seats by Infinity Kappa Perfect 3.5โ€™s all bought from Crutchfield.com
Then thereโ€™s that Simple Engineering list of MUST DO ITEMS to fix common SSR problems ๐Ÿ‘
Thanks to my SSR family for answering my questions no matter how small or big I appreciate all of you ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Cheers ๐Ÿป Matt In Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™Œ Thanks I appreciate that !! Later this year I am thinking of putting Kooks long tube headers & their high flow Cats package on my 05 SSR but some guys who have the headers in Newer Camaros say they are so so is their another brand thatโ€™s better ???To buy I saw BBK makes a short tube header I am emission except in Pennsylvania I have Classic Plates which means no smog test anymore ,just a state inspection yearlyโ€ฆuntil I qualify for Antique plate thatโ€™s when you are except from both ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I donโ€™t have any experience with the headers. Maybe @TXNSSR or @Curbsssr can assist you.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘€ Thanks I really enjoy Getting Things Done for now since itโ€™s summer I donโ€™t think I want to remove the center console but I am definitely doing the doors and floors this month โ€ฆ.How thick of a layer do you install in the roof area ???Is there a Dicktator pics showing how to disassemble the roof liner and insulate the roof ?
Iโ€™m guessing next on my list is Dynamat which I have used in my daily 2016 Scion iM &
And my 1976 Monte Carlo my first love โ€ฆ.or I found a Eastwood kit similar or one of the brands from your suggestions and figure which brand is good on the wallet ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค‘ A TRUE ENTHUSIAST IS NEVER DONE โœ… ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Do you actually drive SSR that much you need to switch out the radio? I see these posts on Fanatics & other manufacturing hot rod sites. Then comes the, " I can't open doors, Battery is dead, my SSR got stolen because the car thief knew he or she could get in. So sad that the newer cars are not easily stolen due to the alarm system shutting down all electrical when tampered with. I had an older gentleman come up to me at Dairy Queen. He said his SSR had to be towed to the dealer because he was completely locked out. LOL He changed the radio & left his SSR to sit all winter. I tried not to laugh at him as he told his tail of woe. Leave factory-installed items alone, Go start your SSR once a week during winter idle time. Bring up to normal operating temperature. Change your antifreeze with system flush every 3 years. Same for Battery. Put a container of Heet in the gas tank to keep water at bay. Change your oil every 3000 miles or sooner if you park your SSR for longer. NO BATTERY TENDERS!! Oh well, I will probably get banned again for speaking from my experience with SSR. Owned since 2009 with starting miles on the odometer ( It did not work and had an all-new speedometer dash gauges replaced) 79,000 miles. I suffered as I have done before with my car or truck problems by myself since 1973. Replaced ABS module, Complete exhaust twice, transmission replaced, etc. Now have over 176,000 miles. I fixed the problems as I found them. Good luck to you when your SSR quits. I had no help when I asked. Some old lady in Arizona had me banned on fanatics' sites.

Replaced my radio and never had an issue. Change my oil every 6 months or 5,000 miles which ever comes first.

Have received tons of help from this web site and the people here.

I replaced the radio in order to get a backup camera. Also have TPMS system installed for monitoring while I am driving. I have changed all sorts of things in order to fix faults or upgrade since 18 years when mine was born.

I see no reason to criticize people that chose a different path. IDK why putting in an aftermarket radio would cause that problem. But, I only believe I know everything. I really don't.

Keep doing what you're doing! Many have followed the same path and have a better truck because of it! ๐Ÿ˜‰
