Flew to Missoula Montana on Friday the 5th. Took delivery of #1740. Karl Tyler Chevrolet was great to work with.

Drove West on I-90 over Lookout Pass. Was a bit dicey - MT uses GRAVEL on the snow. Made it thru w/o damage! Was able to drive out between snow storms - but lots of rain - NO LEAKS. Got as far as Pasco WA.

Saturday: Columbia River I-84 to I-5 then south into CA.
No rain - blue skies in the AM. See photo attached.
Got as far as Weed CA.

Today - Home to Kingsburg. Early start got the final leg of 400 miles done by noon.

What a GREAT truck. Crazy how so few people even know what a SSR is. Got my photo taken by a passing motorist. Lots of thumbs up - even from a restored '39 Chevy Coupe near Portland. I'd buy a SSR in every color if I could affort it - but this Yellow truck of mine is perfect!

The image I've looked at as my computer background for months is now real: 10 feet away in my garage!

One more shot

Mt. Hood looms in the distance.

If the weather holds out - its Hwy 1 from Monterey to San Luis Obispo next weekend. Watch for photos...

traction control

kwhopper89,

Did your traction control kick in on your trip? If so, how did it do?

I didn't turn it off - and never felt the rear getting loose. I did drive w/ TLC - so I don't think it would have ever needed to kick in. I did take it off in a BIG parking lot and got the rear to kick loose - on wet pavement.

Took Delivery of my SSR 2 years ago today...

Well - it's been a full two years of ownership now... At about this time (noon in Montana) in 2003 I was sitting in my SSR for the first time.

Good thing I'm not needing to drive home from Montana today - as Lookout Pass seems to have much more snow than '03.

Happy anniversary! I've got my one year coming up on the 23rd, Its amazing to look back at how much I've learned about the SSR in the past year.

YES - California does require a front plate - as you can see - I don't care!!! I have not been hasseled...

Look in the Parts forum =- I just posted a couple pics of a removeable plate holder a friend has made...
