Give us more details because all of mine will rev well past 2,000 RPMS. What has been done to the truck recently? Any repairs or changes made to anything?

Air leak near the throttle body? Internal throttle body issue, bad pedal module, engine seizing up, misfiring on several cylinders, clogged kats, could be almost anything. Most issues like these should throw codes and be accompanied by the check engine light on or flashing. I wouldn't try to drive it till the reason is found. Does it make any power at 2000 rpms, or just revs to that in neutral. Manual or automatic, 5.3L or6.0L ('03/04 or '05/06/). They are different!Any idea as to why the ls motor will only rev to 2000 rpms?
when I first start it, there is no light on and it works perfect, as soon as I give it gas, the check engine light and low power light comes on.Or is there a check engine light on?
Do you know where I can get a pedal module? I am leaning to that as the problem. It's a manual 6.0Air leak near the throttle body? I can't find it tonight, but I believe @Dragon2U had one listed with some parts he is selling. From a recent thread, it is a fairly rare part to fail.Do you know where I can get a pedal module? I am leaning to that as the problem. It's a manual 6.0
Can you go to a close autoparts store and borrow their code reader and check the codes?Do you know where I can get a pedal module? I am leaning to that as the problem. It's a manual 6.0
Yes, I went and they narrowed it down but didn't know! Can you go to a close autoparts store and borrow their code reader and check the codes?
If you can ask for the codes it would help greatly. Some of the early year throttle bodies were known to be weak, and can cause a code when the indicated and the expected position goes out of spec. I haven’t seen it happen with the later years, but it is possible.Yes, I went and they narrowed it down but didn't know!

Do you have a mechanic? IDK your area, but if you don't you could probably ask around as to where people take their GTO's and Corvettes LS or LT. People who can figure things out and not just replace parts. I would be lost if I didn't have one. In fact, there are two shops in our town of 8,000 that are good at it.If you can ask for the codes it would help greatly. I wouldn’t start buying parts without more data. Although not commonly suggested, this sounds like something a dealer could help with, as they can look at the code, associated data and suggest which parts need to be replaced. Or perhaps a qualified shop, as there isn’t a lot special with the engine. The entire package scares folks off, but the engine, drivetrain and suspension wasn’t uncommon back in the day.
I use OBD fusion….. but there are a number of good ones out there. Just go to the APP store and choose for yoruself.@Mike in AZ, which 3rd-party app would you recommend to use with this scanner?? I have a smart phone, but am a dumb user....................................
