Hi guys -

Dropped my Asphalt off at the dealer last night to take care of their We Owe stuff and my other niggles...

And I asked the salesman, who happens to be my future father-in-law, if he'd heard anything on the new color for 2006.

Now, this isn't concrete, treat it only as hearsay because he didn't get the info directly from GM of course, he's not 100% sure or anything...

Steel Blue.

Near as I can tell it'll be kind of like LeMans Blue but with a stronger grey undertone.

Will it be a good color for SSR? I can't even fathom whether it would or wouldn't.

Now, it's still not official, but it's a little better to me than speculation.

I am sorry to say that is not the correct name for the new color for 06.

Wish they would come out with this color. Very easy for a two-tone. Would trade the 05 Yellow in a heart beat.

Marc - I'm sorry, I didn't hear it stated as "Steel Blue" being the color name, but that's how it sounded to me from the description. I'm perfecty fine to be wrong here, I can only relate what I heard =0)

Hey Group,

There are vendors out there that work with GM and they to also know what GM is working on etc...

For me I have no choice but to go with the proper protocal... :willy:

Ps. It really is no surprise... the color bright blue was suggested long before by SSR290 :jester and also another member said they saw some two tones that were being worked on inside the plant if you might recall?

Sorry, but the truck could be HOT PINK and it would'nt be considered girly...
It's just too cool no matter what the color is.
And I think since it is suppose to be a chick magnet, that GM should get a womans opinion for new colors ... Yes, I would like to see a sapphire colored blue
and it should be called Blue By You .... ( blue bayou ).

Dammit I wanted a Medium/dark blue on my SSR and I ordered Silver for my 05, I should change the order since they still haven't built my car yet. :cuss

But the new blue isn't medium to dark according to the true info posted above - sounds like more of a turquoise or something by Marc's reaction to the photoshopped one and the confirmation of Pacificc Blue (and I can't find a photo of a chevy anything in pacific blue to compare)
