Springfield, Ill was the place this weekend for car NUTS and RT 66 enthusiasts Bob Alexander (AKA Tennesseecozydog) and his lovely wife Jan and my lovely wife Doris and I, left Murfreesboro Tn. Wed morning stopped at Litchfield Ill and ate at the ARISTON Café. Drove to Springfield were we spent Thursday and Friday. Thursday morning met up with Jim and his lovely bride, Lois at the Cozy Dog Drive-Inn. Jim and Lois are from Quincy Ill were they own the Instant Replay Sports Bar, If your in that neck of the woods sometime they would love to chat with other SSR Fanatics. Went to Airport and a very successful business man, Dick Levi showed us his fantastic car collection which he has a 03 Redline SSR with only 50 Miles on it. You can see some of his collection at Dick Levis Garage. He sponsors Tim Wilkerson's Funny car dragster. Dick also has 3 Lear jets. Our schedule didn't allow us to go for a quick flight. Couldn't meet a nicer down to earth man. Staging for car parade was across from our motel. Estimate of 2000 plus cars and 80,000 people attended week-end event Headed home Sat. Morning. #1 Cozy Dogs R at the ARISTON Café in Litchfield #2 The TOY in frt. of the 1st original Holiday Inn on Rt. 66 #3 Cozy Dog Drive Inn #4 Dick Levi with is 03 SSR. #5 Tim Wilkerson's Funny car body

Thanks for the nice pix Robert. Sorry we had to cut it 1 day short due to the "Chick in Charge" (Jan) falling just outside the front door at the Holiday Inn Express Thursday evening and breaking her wrist/arm in 2 places. Bones are "Displaced" so surgery is likely according to "Orthopod" at Illinois Orthopedic Alliance. Now in a "temporary" cast till in the morning when we head to Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance. Resting peacefully thanks to Aleve.

Sorry I added "Negative" news to your post and do apologize. Probably be a "pm" from the "board of directors" when I get back from Church around 9:30. Again thanks for the neat pictures and THANK YOU Doris for staying by Jan's side until we could get help to get her up. Bob tennesseecozydog :ssr

We did Ed, Dick Levi is just the most accommodating individual. His son just passed away about 3 weeks ago, has offices all over the world (over 600 employee's), a Yacht dealership/business in Florida, 100% sponsorship of Tim Wilkerson's NHRA Nitro Funny Car and he took the time to come out to the Springfield Airport where he has all his "toys" stored to walk around with us and tell us about each car and motorcycle. His A. Lincoln custom made motorcycle is absolutely beautiful and one of a kind. Cannot describe it at all.(Michael & Linda [SSRoe] you all need to see this Harley collection, especially Dick's personal custom Lincoln bike) and by the way he has ridden all of them. Still his favorite classic car is his "plain jane" 63 Chevy Black Biscayne 2 door post, black tires, dog dish hubcaps and 409/425 Horse 4 Speed which he still likes to get out and "Street Drag" (at age 70) at each Stop & Go light.

There will be ONE more time to look at his collection and that will be in September of 2018 (9/19, 20, 21 & 22) and it will be the Lincoln Tour. (the Lincoln Presidential Museum, Lincoln, Illinois, the only town in the US named by and for A. Lincoln, the only home Lincoln ever owned, the Lincoln Law office, the Depot where Lincoln left from to go to Washington and Lincoln's Tomb. Plus the usual Friday Night City Lights Cruise In.
