Looks like a pretty slick little item. Might I suggest instead of the 9-digit VIN, on that upper line, on the left print the build date of your R in the format MM-DD-YY, and to the right just the last 5 digits of the VIN. Might be a PITA, due to cost or difficulty setting up (time), but that would make the plaque correct "right to the day", instead of only year of mfg. Just a thought, passing thru the vast wasteland of my brain.....................I'm still in for 2 when the time comes to order...............Mike

Good idea on the build date. But with only having the last five digits of the VIN you might have something built in November of 2003 and it's actually an '04 which would show on the first digit of the nine digit VIN. I'm open for suggestions.

OK, I'll admit I'm a dunce, but I'm confused by the 9-digit VIN on the plaque example above. My '05's last 9 are 65B117535, the '06 reads 16B123468. How do you get the year of mfg. from this?? If you're using the last 8 digits of the VIN, it's obvious, but to me, the extra digit at the beginning throws it all off. As Ricky Ricardo used to say, "S'plain this to me, Lucy"........................

You are the first to catch it. Yes I made a mistake, there is a extra 0, blame it on old age, my glasses need adjusted or not checking myself. The error is being corrected. A teacher once told me some people are perfect, the rest of us are only 98%.😃😃😃
