The tandau cover would not open correctly from day one; the next problem was the roof ajar message and ringing inside alarm bell. I have had possession no more than eight days since purchase on December 31st! I love the truck but I'm sick of the tech problems! Anybody have any suggestions?

Problems

Namvet,
The tonneau cover not gong up is a problem for a lot of us here. There are a few threads with the discussion of how to take care of it. Most of it has to do with the gas shocks and air temp(warmer is better, colder is worse).

The top alarm could be that the roof hasn't fully cycled up. Try running it down a little bit, and then all the way back up, holding the button until you here a bell sound, indicating the end of the roof cycle, and that it should be locked in place. If that doesn't do it it may take an adjustment of the roof stops on the up cycle side. L et the dealer do this to keep everything kosher with GM and let them (the manufacturer) see that there is a problem with yours.

Hope this helps.

Freezer educated me on the correct names of the parts so the engineers could keep em straight. The metal cover over the box where the top is stored is called the tonneau, the plastic part that goes over that when the roof is down is called the flipper door, and the bed cover (which we keep refering to as a tonneau) is called the bed cover. It seems weird because we usually call a bed cover a tonneau but they had to come up with a unique name system for all those similar parts. I would not sweat the cover not coming up. It comes up enough for your fingers to get under it and I would bet you have the carpet kit like I do and that adds a tad more weight to it. In the summer mine opens just fine and pops right up, but in the winter, it needs some assistance. Hope this helps, Ed:)

Oh, the roof ajar message activates when the roof is actually not fully down or up. Hold down the top button till you hear the chime and it will stop.

When you say the tandau cover, what exactly does it do?
have you dealer check the hydraulics in the top. Seems some are low and that fixed my problem. Hope this helps. :seeya
