Just bought a 2004 Slingshot SSR in Des Moines, IA Am flying back to get it and drive it back home to sunny San Diego! Any specific advice for a memorable road trip in an SSR?

Make sure you take your CAMERA! :) Lots of FILM and/or storage...

I had weather conditions to deal with on my drive home after purchase - and really wish I'd been able to stop more often. I may even travel the same route in the future (Montana to CA) to get the shots I missed...

Also - post your route here - perhaps you could meet up with owners along the way (weren't but a handful when I drove home) getting photos of their SSR's too. lloger likes to have other owners sign his SSR book - which is a great idea too...
been there, done this, exceptionally scenic!

Pueblo to Montrose
Montrose to Durango
Durango to Bluff to Mexican Hat to Kayenta
Kayenta to Page to Jacob Lake to North Rim to Kanab
Kanab to St. George
St George to Las Vegas
Vegas to 29 Palms
29 Palms through Joshua Tree to Mecca to Palm Desert
Palm Dessert to Warner Springs (start on 74)
Warner Springs to Borrego Springs (take a side trip to Palomar Mountain)
Borrego Springs to Julian
Julian to San Diego

I have done the Pueblo to Vegas in my SSR. The Vegas to San Diego on various test trips with other vehicles.

Julian to Crusing Grand Friday nite :ssr
