If you live where a front license plate is required there are a few options (1) "Don't mount at ALL" (2) Some very nice low brackets (3) Drill holes and mount factory bracket.

Seeing how the SSr is my daily driver and I didn't want to drill holes and "Don't Mount" were not options and I was going to go with the low bracket. While doing my research I came up with another option, it's a product called Retract-A-Plate which allows you to lower/raise plate at will. I installed and am very happy with results.

I tried to document the install process and created a HOW-TO for other that may be interested in installing.

This may not be everybodys "CUP OF TEA" but it will give others another option.

Enjoy :) :)

Thanks, Black Magic

Great job on the instructions. I'd looked at the Retract-a-plate, but thought it was a bit much of an installation, and I thought I'd have to cut the air dam - looks like that stays intact.

So, with their sparse instructions, and your very detailed information, I'm ready to tackle it later this spring.

Thanks, again.

Note to Buffy - this is definitely one for the Tips and Tricks lock - in.

Is this

Is this going to block air to the rad? I mounted mine at same hight but back of the little black air dam under the rad. I mounted it off two studs so it will swing back on steap driveways.
