Just thought I'd ask,

The wife and I are going to run the full length of the Hot Rod Power Tour this year, from Milwaukee, WI all the way to Kissimmee, FL. It will make stops in the following states:

Milwaukee, WI ..............June 4, 2005
Springfield, IL ...............June 5, "
Indianapolis, IN..............June 6, "
Nashville, TN ..................June 7, "
Birmingham, AL ...............June 8, "
Tallahassee, FL ...............June 9, "
Kissimmee, FL ..................June 10, "

For more info and registration go to familyevents.com then look for the Hot Rod Power Tour logo. They will also have a list of hotels with blocked rooms for the cities they will be in each night.

We ran the tour from Davenport, IA to Chicago, IL and to Greenbay,WI last year, and had a blast.
Maybe we'll see you at one of the venues.

I'll have :cuss , oops, scratch that, "we'll" :) have the SSR this year, sporting a new Custom Paint job :willy: , so it'll be hard to miss.

HI Fuzzy,

Any chance you will be able to drive
or roll
by the mighty Niagara Falls?

Sounds like you will have a lot of fun and excitment. What paint scheme are you going to do on your SSR?

I'm going. I'm currently planning on running with the Prowler group in my SSR unless we can get a group together. Right now I'm planning on joining up in Nashville, but that may change I might end up deciding to do the long haul.

Marc,

Not heading towards Niagra Falls. Wife only has one weeks vacation this year.
For the paint scheme check back to the test pic thread from December sometime. I painted my radio controlled car first to make sure it was what I wanted to do on the full sized SSR.

DavidN,

No matter what you drive, look us up. Wer're looking to hook up with a few people to make the ride a little more freindly.

RonC,
If nothing else we'll look for you at Nashville.

Les "brownhornet",
We may have been on one of the shows, but not in the SSR, and not on Chris Titas' crew. He was a hard guy to catch up with. They had coverage on Discovery, The Outdoor channel, and Speed channel. We had the Kandy Tangerine 2002 ext cab with the 6" lift on the tour last year.

Interesting tour.....

The tour from Birmingham to Tallahassee passes about 30 miles from the house, assuming I/S 10 is how they get to the Fl capitol. Would like to know the path of travel for the tour. Can you join up mid-stream? Nothing available on the website ...perhaps not finalized yet.

A better link follows...Hot Rod Power Tour

P/P,
You can join in at any of the cities, or along the way. They don't usually post the route untill they are close to the area. I can tell you that they route us on side highways to get a good scenic veiw of the country, small towns, etc.

Sounds good, FUZZY

Who knows the tour may come closer to home as both highways 20 & 90 run parallel to the coast. That would put me a spit away from the Tour. Maybe the wife would take a couple days off for the final part of the ride. That sounds exciting :willy: If she can't I'll go it alone :yesnod

That sounds like fun!

We purchased our 2004 SSR last night, and can't wait to take a road trip! My husband would love to do this, we could probably meet the tour in Nashville or Birmingham, then follow it back home to Florida. Is there a group of SSR's that ride together? How much is it to register - it's not $30k like the Gumball, is it? :eek

Welcome to the group, I am sure you will love the SSR as much as everyone on the site does. The Hot Rod Tour sounds like it will be great fun. I wish we could go too. I couldn't find the price on the link. Maybe someone else found it, I did see where you get $5. off if you register as a group. :seeya

Hey, Rick

Is this yours? - If so, awesome workmanship - spent quite a bit of time looking at it the first day, but didn't see anyone looking like an owner near it.

Curious about the 5 bolt axles - what was involved in the swap? It would open up a whole new world of available wheels.

Flassh,

Thanks for the compliments ! Didn't have much time to hang around the
SSR at SEMA, too much to see and do ! We had three project vehicles
there with a Malibu Maxx being the third (see it at www.razzi.com).

The 5-lug conversion done by drilling a new bolt pattern in the frt. hubs,
axles and rotors than pluging the old holes. we went with 5 0n 5",
stock being 6 on 5". Still used 12mm studs but had to install longer
ones. Worked out great. Will be working with SSBC on brake package
with 14'' rotors and giant ''TRI-POWER'' calipers. May be able to get
nem rotors already drilled 5on5''. the SSR brakes are great, but with the
added power of the turbo the upgrade on the brakes is welcome.
The company that will market the turbo kit will have dyno numbers
soon, will post when available. Expecting 12 sec. qtr. times and
450-500rwhp. YEE-HAW!!!!!!

Registration for Power Tour is $55.00
Cool! I will pre-register today-

Thanks for the welcome! My husband has not stopped grinning since we bought our SSR the other day. He is now trying to find a good shop to paint ghost flames, but I don't know if he'll pry his hands off the steering wheel long enough to have it painted!
