NEED HEADCOUNT AND PAYMENTS BY MAY 7th. Please keep track of your mileage from home directly to Deadwood. Sightseeing: with so many different places to visit I would suggest going in groups of no more than 20-25 so there is no traffic jams. if some of you folks that have been there before want to organize groups feel free to do it. Every day at 2-4-6 they shut down main Street for the shootout in downtown Deadwood. At 7:15 they have the capture. Wednesday night there is a free concert downtown, the Garage Boys is a rock band that will be performing. The tour of the mechanic shop after the train ride is limited to 50 people. Right now I have 46. Car show will be Thursday night from 5:30 till 8:00 at the Lodge. Feel free to bring your extra parts you have to sell. If anyone has any other information they can post it here. Just remember I need head count and payment by May 7th. Still have a few seats left on the bus tour for 9:00 Monday morning. Robert

Got it. See you there. Haven't heard anything lately from @Dicktator, Chuckster or @Light Show, the other owners that are coming from Florida.
We are planning to go to the meet and greet and train ride but haven't sent the money yet. It is depending on my health issues that are continuing to improve. We are planning to be there and will send the money by May 7 if everything is OK.

Thinking about heading to Billings, Montana after the rally. Anybody been there? Would it be worth it?
It depends on what you like to see. You may want to go on to Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road. Come down through Yellowstone and Tetons. There is certainly a lot of very interesting things to do. I enjoy the area very much.

Just a couple points on Glacier, First - It is a jewel of our park system, not to be missed. Second - the going to the sun road is VERY popular and I believe this year they are requiring reservations to make the trip over the top in your private vehicle - the rest of the park is open as always. Third - there is a magnificent lodge close to each main entrance which is worth the stay and you can catch a tour ride in a vintage 1930's bus that takes you over the going to the sun road (they have a fleet of them that were updated and restored by Ford a couple years ago). We have been to many of the national parks and Glacier is second only to Yosemite in our book.
In all the whole area is beautiful and would be a great choice while we are still able to travel freely. Just my $.02 - as usual Dave gives good advice.

Damn you guys really know how to make a guy still building his 403g and pension feel jealous. But as long as I enjoy and I can physically continue to teach the next generation, i think i will continue to teach.
Check back in 5 years.

We will plan a trip out in this area as soon as we can. Unfortunately, its not now.
Enjoy everyone, i hope to see you in September.

I found a couple pictures of the vintage buses that are used for the ride over the going to the sun road-they are really cool and I thought you might like to see them.

They had them when we were there five years ago. We drove and you have to get a super early start. Unfortunately they were having a bike (pedal) coming from the other direction. Nothing like meeting 1200 bikes on that road. The country is entirely different than the south land. The glaciers are “better “ in the Canadian Glacier part, but both are beautiful. If you haven’t been to Yellowstone and the Tetons do that too.

Is there an itinerary for us? I want to know where we are all going together and where I have to make my own plans. I just don't want to double up. Thanks.

Come on Pete! Your are Florida Chapter Ambassador, you know how to plan a trip.

You and Linda did Route 66 to Calif.

See you in South Dakota! We're going on to California to visit family.
