I've seen a few references to adding a rear crossmember, (why, I'm not sure).........So, maybe I have an extra too??? Anyone out that way, know more about this SSR and/or what #13 really means.:smile2:

The truck came with a bar stiffener across the bottom of the frame. The frame has the 4 bolt holes and nuts welded for the 4 bolt Trail Blazer rear crossmember (much better).(Look under the truck at the frame just behind the door) Some (me included) opted to pay $49 for another bar to put in the holes. Not as good a the 4 bolt . (I replaced with the 4 bolt.).The best option is Mikes 4 bolt Crossmember for $110. Suspension / Frame

This cross member stiffens the frame to lessen the shakes, sqeeks etc when crossing RR or on rough roads. Much better handling.

The rear crossmember from the factory is a single round bar and a lot of people have done one of two different changes. Being that there is already the second mounting holes because of the trail blazer frame some have replaced the factory one with trail blazer crossmember for better support. Then some have just put a second factory one on the second set of hole.

I have no clue, the running boards on the SSR, blend into the front/rear fenders and look like what you might think would have been the original concept. Much better than the stock (stand alone) mounted running boards.

I agree Marc. MDF = Medium Density Fiberboard which would be very wrong on your truck. They use MDF to make fiberglass molds so maybe that's where it came from??
