Anyone that is interested: there is a planned SSR ride Saturday 7/2/2005 morning around 8:00am.
The meet is at Smoky J's BBQ at RM620 and 2222.
We plan to drive Volente to 1431 to 281/marble falls to 71 and back to 620.

All are invited and advise to bring a camera, it should be a very cool site. :ssr :jester :cool

Update

I have PM'd everyone I could find in the Austin area, that is those who list their location in their profile, about this ride.

If you can't make the whole ride, try and show at the meeting place so we can get pictures of all our SSR's together and ride with us if you can part or all the way. It will be very informal but should provide a great showcase...

This could be the beginnings of an SSR club in Central Texas.
Please try and show...

So far there are 6 confirmed and counting...???

even more

Cool everyone, even more replies and confirms on this ride. I am getting concerned now that Smoky J's parking lot may not be big enough...Oh well. I'll update this everytime I get a confirm so the thread stays alive and in full view.
See ya'll Saturday! :ssr :party

9 and counting

Just an update that there are 9 confirmed for the ride and counting. As I said before, even if you can't make the ride, try and show for the pics.

Actually guys, the parking lot kitty corner from the Smokey Joe's, the "HEB" lot, is much better a s aplace to meet for the following reasons:

1. It's MUCH larger
2. It has trees for shade
3. It has a Starbucks at the north end of the strip mall, opposite the end that the HEB is on, offering drinks & shade for those who get there a bit early
4. It is MUCH easier to turn onto the road we will be taking towards Volante, since it is a RIGHT turn into a multi-lane street at that point, rather than a left turn, across a line of lined up traffic waiting for the light, onto a single lane road in each direction.

Just a suggestion.

I picked Smoky J's because of breakfast tacos and exposure to onlookers. Bull creek road will take us to volente (avoids having to worry about 620) which we will take to lime creek road all the way to 1431. Or if you guys would rather we can go 620 to Volente, makes me no nevermind...
HEB is fine with me, whatever you guys want, I just want pictures.

On another note, just picked up the SSR from The Ding Company where I had the invisible bra installed, looks good, will look even better in a couple of days (curing). I'll bring some of his business cards for anyone interested, he is located on the south side near St. Elmo.

Tax and drive out totalled around $600 US (is that $2000.00 canadian??:)

He doeasn't use the premade, but rather uses the CAD template and cuts his own. The reason is: Pre-mades leave no room for error, mess up and trash the whole thing. He cuts from raw stock, but not on the Vehicle, messes us and gets another sheet. Matter of fact he ran out of material and could not do my headlights, next week for that.

Labor was around $100.

Was it expensive, yes. 5 times more than a traditional bra, but lifetime guarantee and doesn't distract from paint job nor does it trap dust and dirt.

I'm going to get it for our XC90 and C2 Corvette.

It was great time this morning and definitely worth the drive down from Richardson even though I had to peel off from the SSR caravan a bit early. I enjoyed meeting all of my fellow Central Texas members. Ampmop, thanks for pulling this together.
