Before I break my shift knob, does anybody know how to take it apart? I unscrewed the set screw in the front and the knob and shaft sleeve come off as one unit. How do I seperate the knob from the sleeve? I want to put a different push button knob on, but without the sleeve it looks strange.

If I remember correctly I just pulled them apart when I installed the Flame Ball.

Thanks for the reply!

Do you have pictures of the Flameball? That's one of the ones I was considering.

I'll try to pull them apart tomorrow... I didn't want to force it if it unscrewed or something.

Also, did you go with the light-up one? If so, how'd you do the wiring?

Thanks again for the assistance!

I'll get some pics in the morning. I haven't wired it up yet because I am sending my waterfall out next week to get painted. With that already off I figured it would be easier to get the center console off and run wires.:seeya

I couldn't find my pics of the ball. I'll take some more when it quits raining.
The one thing that is kind of a pain with the install is that you have to insure the center plunger is able to travel all the way up, if not you won't get your key back. It just take a bit of time to adjust it.:seeya
