Has anyone taken the Chevrolet Bow Tie emblem off of the tailgate? Mofo

yes. chev emblem and ssr emblem

Apply heat with a hair dryer on Hi hold about 16" away from emblem for 30 -40 seconds then use a plastic putty knife to pry emblem off (instructions as per shop manual)

No they use adhesive tape to apply those emblems to the truck.

I like the clean look without both the Chevy and SSR logos.

Just my feelings... I have always been one for the great Chevrolet's heritage look the awesome bowtie ...

and that

SSR logo!

I think there attached with tape but have guide holes for installation purpose's. :rant

Emblems



The Chevy Bowtie and SSR emblem are attached to the tailgate with double faced tape. The Bowtie has two prongs that are guides that fit into holes in the tailgate.

As well, the "SS" has two prongs and the "R" has two prongs. In all there are 6 holes in the tailgate.

I removed and reinstalled mine when it was painted.
