The SSR odometer is the LED digital and seems to be battery dependent.
If the battery is disconnected for a long period of time how does the odometer
retain its mileage setting? If I were to add a secret location battery power
on off switch as an anti theft measure , or while leaving the SSR in storage
for an extended period of time, would I be able to retrieve my odometer
reading when the battery is reconnected? Thanks

In the past I lost the mileage on a Reatta after extended storage
and the odometer on the digital dash just read "ERROR".

The legal side of vehicle mileage accuracy has driven the automakers to take very stringent control of the odometer data. I believe the odometer data is stored in "non-volatile" memory in the instrument cluster. If I am mistaken, I will welcome correction. After battery reconnection, regardless of how long, your reading will still be there. In fact, if you have to have your instrument cluster replaced, your technician will have to program the mileage into the new unit. Don't worry about the mileage data disappearing.
