In my 70 years on the earth I've had more vehicles than I can remember. Of course the memory thing is whole nother topic. But the point is I've enjoyed most all of them and have very fond memories of them. Do I often say, "boy I wish I had that one back"? Sure I do. But the fact is it wasn't feasible for me to have and keep them all. But the thrill of the hunt for them and getting to know them was priceless. I was blessed to experience this and wouldn't have changed a thing. Do I miss my SSR? Yes. But I so look forward to my next vehicular adventure. Fast cars and fine wine... so many of them and so little time.

Not a misprint. Apparently a hanful of 84 M6's made it to the US. I spoke at length with the owner. His father ordered it and it arrived in New York in April 1985.
His father became unable to drive and he inherited this one, in the family since new. Below is the 84 for sale.

Oh hell yeah! Jump on that one for sure. That's a looker and a driver too. Not the same thing but it kinda reminds me of the black '86 911 Carrera I had.

I agree Doophus! But beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Otherwise we would all be driving the same vehicle and in the same color! How boring would that be! 🤮
BMW's have never been my cup of tea but this is about Dales struggle between the two! I think the Kate that ravishing redhead will win out! ❤ 😁

Sorry, changed to 1984.
Far from a basic BMW Doophus.
Those M6's are amazing, powerful as heck, and, IMO one of the more beautiful vehicles.
Hardly a Driver either. This one has been gone through from top to bottom, end to end, bolts replaced.
Not a mark on the paint (Seller reports) heated garage stored and covered..
It has 18k miles on it - current bid is $60k - list $85k.
The last 2 sold that I am aware of had about 50k miles, not rebuilt and sold for $55k & $57.5k.

I am not going to be able to pull this together - dollar exchange & shipping would mean an extra +/- $25k for me, plus import fees (14% I think as even though a 1986 it would likely be considered a luxury vehicle).

Well at the very least, if he keeps sending you pictures.
You will be able to create a collage in a room or garage.
All we can really do is try and give are all.
But, better even yet is to Pray 🙏.
I know we all have and will pray for extras from time to time
and we don’t always truly need them or get them. Especially on our time line

I've gotta be missing something, Dale @Cash . . .

How could you even consider turning your back on a Beautiful and Unique Redline FPR SSR, aka: Kate, for a Basic Black BMW?

So I too was in a recent situation as some of you may know, having to sell my SSR to purchase a new toy..I was wanting to drive multiple cool cars on my bucket list before they take my drivers license away from me. (I don't have the funds or the garage space for all of the toys).

I bit the bullet and sold the SSR, knowing someday I'll have another one in my garage...
..but until then, I purchased one of my new toys, a 2007 Z51 Corvette in immaculate, low mileage shape!

I don't have a PermaGrin smile with this ride, but I am still smiling ear to ear and glad I did what I had to do to purchase this ride.

In my opinion, Cash is not turning his back on his SSR with the asking price he has quoted and the milage it has. He is hoping against hope for some one to give him an offer that even comes within 20K of that asking price and in reality, that is extremely likely to not happen.
The end result as most everyone viewing this post already knows is without some extreme chance , he will retain the SSR (Kate) and have to let the Beemer fade from view.
Just stating the reality of the situation as I see it.

If you were familiar with pricing in Canada that is not a high price. A friend just paid $900 for a Harley jacket up there that cost $300 in the states. Things are very high up there compared to the states. Especially things that come from the states and are in demand. My feeling is he can want and pray about it but if God doesn't want it to happen it is not going to happen without a lot of struggles and road blocks. Good luck to him.

Easier to type than say without a tear, or downright crying! I swore I would never do this, but there is a car I really want and three months from now I could do it w/o losing my Kate. Right now, it is one or the other and sadly, leaning towards the other, which is on auction and price increasing as I type.
I am trying to sort it out financially, but struggling with it.
Three months from now I could keep both, need to adjust my garage a bit to keep all safe.

Cars & Women! - Jeez!

Kate - Babied, winter heated stored, 2006 Redline FPR 6sp 4:56 gears, about 45k miles - perfect as can be.
Total full load but not chrome package - body colour package, carpet cargo, hard bins - tucked boards, shortened shifter. 2 sets of Lonnies tail lights (52 Blue Dots 61 Caddie Bullets

I might ask my friend Paul from NFwy Hyundai if he would be my philanthropist to hold this car until I can adjust my finances, but for now - Kate - $60k
I hope it works out for you to keep both. I’ve been tempted a time or two myself. But, so far, am keeping the SSR. I’ll have to see how my knees work after surgery before I do anything about the 6 speed SSR.

You never know. A friend of mine in his sophomore year in high school bought a "66 GTO convertible. Red with four speed. I loved that car. Kids at time drove hopped up Tri Fives, 442's, Chevelles, Mustangs, Cameros, MoPars and the like. Well, like an idiot, in '71 he let local Mercury dealer talk him into trading it in for a new MERCURY. What an idiot right? Wrong, he still has that Mercury Pantera. Class is over.
