According to the sun article, BMW is going to start running their vehicles on java.

I wonder what computer programming language Chevy will use? Microsoft's .NET?

Anyone know?

You know, tho, with the SSR's '50's retro look, the language the SSR runs on should be Fortran! :glol

Get it? Fortran! :glol We could use punch cards to change radio channels!

Seriously tho, what language is the SSR programmed in? How often does it need a reboot? :)

More retro yet...

Hey... let's replace that high tech PCM with a vacuum tube based computer. It'd fill up the entire bed and require a few hundred amps of power to run!. :lol

Seriously.... I would imagine that the developers write the code in something conventional like C, then it's compiled and burned into the chips.

Yea. In the article it mentions that the advantage of java is it can automatically download updates.
